What did you want to be when you grew up?
A DJ – from the age of eleven.
What’s the worst club you’ve ever been to?
I’ve been to plenty when I was first starting out. It’s good, as it makes you appreciate what you have now. It’s been a while since I played a shocking club.
What’s been your worst job?
Making cardboard boxes in a factory. I lasted six months.
What are you obsessed with right now?
Breaking Bad on TV, and a book called The Traveller by John Twelve Hawks. It’s fantastic.
And what do you hate right now?
Coming into land at Heathrow airport. You’re always stuck in a holding pattern.
When and where were you happiest?
I’m happy most of the time. I have a great life with work, and a fantastic family.
How would you describe what you do to someone who didn’t know you?
I fly all day, stay up all night and play the music I like to thousands of people over and over again.
Have you ever been arrested? If so, what for?
Never. I’m a good boy.
What’s the best record ever made?
The Blade Runner soundtrack. It’s probably not actually the best record ever made, but I love it.
What’s the coolest thing in your house?
My cat, and he knows it.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Always give whatever you do one hundred per cent.
Who’s your all-time hero, and why?
I would have loved to have met Bill Hicks for a chat.
What do you collect – apart from records?
Air miles! When I die I will get them to fly my coffin around the world first class to make sure I use them all.
What’s your vice?
Sleep. I never seem to get enough so it’s something that I dream of more than anything.
Who was your first love, and what happened?
A girl in Hastings. She had to compete with my commitment to my career (and lost).
What were you doing at 2pm last Sunday afternoon?
I had just got home from Fabric, which was great as I was in the UK on a Sunday lunchtime for a change.
What’s your answer to everything?
It will be alright.
On a scale of one to 10, how good are you in the sack?
My wife is happy, and that’s good enough for me!
What’s your most prized possession that you’ve still got from when you were a kid?
I still have my collection of Corgi cars which are still in great condition.
Have you ever had a homosexual experience?
No.
What was your last treat for yourself?
Taking a week off with the family with no phones or laptops.
What do you spend your money on?
I work very hard, so I try and spend it wisely on useful things for my family.
What’s your drug of choice?
I don’t even drink coffee or tea! The adrenalin I get from gigs is the only drug I need.
What can’t you live without?
Oxygen.
What would you change about yourself if you could?
My wife has said she wouldn’t change anything about me, and she’s the boss!
If you had a Tardis, what time would you go to?
I would have loved to have seen Larry Levan at his peak at the Paradise Garage. That would be pretty special.
What’s your lamest claim to fame?
I used to have the high score on The Defender arcade game over with over 10,000,000 points. The game lasted over ten hours!
