DJ BATTLE: RANDOM MOVEMENT VS UNQUOTE

Welcome to the first episode of our new DJ Death-match series.

We'll be taking two DJs from the same genre, but different countries, and asking them to go head to head in an old fashioned mix off. And what a way to start with two of d 'n' b's finest talents: Random Movement and Unquote.

Big respect to Russia's Unquote and America's Random Movement for stepping up to the plate and having the self belief to lay themselves on the line for the first battle. Leave a comment on the page to vote.

Med School say...
"Unquote has been sharpening his DJ tools and selecting the freshest cuts in his record box for this mesmerizing mix. With some tongue-twisting titles, tracks from his new album and plenty of razor sharp beats, there's one way Random Movement is going.... and that's down. Sorry, but you know it's true. "

Random Movement's team say...
"Random Movement's days of training for this bout are paying off with this tight and mighty mix.  Branded with new tunes full of blazing bass, this 'stick-and-move' style mix of heart-pounding cuts are going to be hard to beat in this arena... and you can quote us on that. "

Enjoy the mixes!

More about the artists:

Random Movement

Ever since climbing onto the soulful drum 'n' bass vibe 9 years ago, Random Movement, aka Mike Richards' production skills and DJ technique have pushed him to the forefront of State-side drum 'n' bass. His unique sound has been spread worldwide, with performances at major clubs and festivals across 4 continents. Along with his album Lucky Guess (released this year on Innerground) Random Movement's soulful, smooth, deep and jazzy vibes have landed releases on Innerground, Liquid V, CIA, Integral, Bassbin, Creative Source, Spearhead, Horizons, Wesbay International and more. Between tours, production, a weekly live radio show on Bassdrive.com, and a monthly podcast, things are continuing to be very productive for this very prolific producer. His uplifting d 'n' b style and great personality are not something to be missed live.

Unquote

Saint Petersburg based electronic music producer Vsevolod Ermakov aka Unquote started in making music in 2007. Influenced by the likes of Exit Recordings and Spectrasoul, and working with his sometime collaborator Mr Sizef, it wasn’t long before he realised that he wanted to break the mould with a new soulful and deeper sound. He first appeared on Hospital's "Future Sound Of Russia" compilation in 2007, before going on to sign exclusively to Hospital's experimental offshoot label Med School. His single "Hide Your Tears Because We Are In Heaven" was released last year, followed up by his recently released debut artist album "Reverberation Box" which is out now on 12" vinyl / CD / digital download.
