Fans of Detroit techno pioneers Octave One may already have most of Revisited nestling on their hard drives as they have been out already on 12”. But add in a couple of old faves – including Alter Ego’s crunching, topsy-turvy rerub of Octave One’s signature tune, Blackwater – and you’ve got a package that sprawls majestically across an entire genre. Fluid tech-house (Aril Brikha’s take on ‘Daystar Rising’), Balearic, jazzy techno (the Los Hermanos remix of ‘Somedays’), and moody, dubsteppy 4/4 (Sandwell District’s take on ‘I Believe’) all make for a fitting tribute.
